Good Afternoon FA-

Many of you are aware of the work for SAP requirements gathering. While this has been a priority, work has been happening in the background in regards to Mass Packaging. One of the top issues reported by FAST was that packaging does not pro-rate WCG awards based on enrollment level. Because this request was very clear and straightforward, work began on the Solution Design. Thanks to Debbie Englehardt, new WCG and CBS equation engines have been developed to pro-rate WCG and CBS based on enrollment level! We reached out to a small group of colleges asking them to attend a walk-through (demo) of the solution design as well as participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT). UAT took place last week and the colleges indicated testing as passed. Special thanks to Tacoma, Spokane, Spokane Falls, Clark and Cascadia for testing with such a quick turnaround. Your efforts and feedback are greatly appreciated!

Overview

  *   Issue: Current WCG and CBS equation engines take the students maximum eligible award amount and evenly distributes across each term. WSAC guidance states that WCG and CBS awards must be prorated based on enrollment, therefore, FA staff must manually adjust awards for students attending less than full time
  *   Solution: Create new equation engines that calculate the one-term amount so that FA load (enrollment) is considered when determining the award amount for the term
  *   Implementation: Equations are targeted for a Production release of 4/27/23. Once we confirm equations are available, instructions will be provided for how to update package plans as well as receive additional assistance.
*Special Note: The original equations will remain available, so that colleges can choose the option that works best for their local processing needs
