Richard Gale</a> will guide faculty members through the process of designing year long SoTL studies informed by an understanding of race and class. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif";color:black">One of the benefits of attending this institute is an improved classroom practice, but SoTL goes beyond excellent teaching.  Engaging in SoTL initiatives creates opportunities
 for faculty members to systematically investigate questions related to student learning with the intention of improving their own teaching and learning and also advancing practice beyond their classrooms by contributing to a larger body of scholarship. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
