<h1>Policy Approved</h1>
<p>On Tuesday, the Washington State Technology Service Board (TSB) approved the new Accessibility Policy #188. While the Policy has been in effect since August when State CIO Michael Cockrill signed the Policy after being approved by a TSB sub-committee, Tuesday's
vote was the final step in this iteration of the Policy's journey. The TSB is a group of <span>legislators, business leaders, agency directors and a union representative that focus on WA State's IT strategic vision and planning, enterprise architecture, policy
and standards and major project oversight.</span></p>

<h1>Accessibility Coordinator Event</h1>
<p> On January 13th, there will be a workshop at the 1500 Jefferson Building to help agencies with the deliverables required in Policy #188. The event is focused around the required IT Accessibility Coordinator role and topics will include a Policy overview,
internal policy, developing process and the plan as described in the OCIO policy. Space is limited. We are asking for the Agency Accessibility Coordinator and one other person from each Agency attend. The goal is to have this as a working meeting where we
can draft policy, discuss testing and procurement practices and compare plans.</p>
