[BLC] Double majoring

Michelle,

I spoke with our Enrollment Services and it sounds like the capability might be there but they prefer not to do it. I am very curious if other colleges have explored this option.

In the past if a student was intent on pursuing two BAS degrees at the same time we coded them in their primary focus and would issue permission codes if needed for other classes.

I would be very curious about this as well because this has come up for us a few times.

We have had students overlap one quarter between two programs, however, we don’t have the capability (that I know of) to code them for both.

Hello all,

We have had a few students who want to double major in our BAS programs and it has brought up some discussion in our division about being coded in two different Bachelor programs at the same time. In the past we have never allowed them to be admitted into multiple BAS programs at a time for various reasons. Do any of you allow students to be coded into multiple bachelor programs at the same time? Do you foresee any issues or any policies around students being coded into multiple BAS programs at the same time?

Any insight would be appreciated.
