<p class="MsoNormal">Hope you are both doing well. DSHS has received questions on whether the emergency financial aid received from the CARES Act (Section 4504) is countable income against public assistance programs.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We have determined that as the emergency funds are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, we can exclude this income per CFR 273.9(c)(3)(ii)(A). This income is excluded for cash and food assistance in compliance with
