<P><B> SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: </B></P></TD></TR>

<TD> The <STRONG><EM>Outreach & Recruitment
Specialist</EM></STRONG> assists with developing,
coordinating, and implementing all aspects of outreach and
recruitment activities specifically targeting underrepresented
and marginalized populations that may be eligible for
Workforce Development programs. The Specialist is
responsible for analyzing, understanding and independently
articulating all general Workforce Development program
eligibility requirements and LWTech information. This
position will help create, develop, and implement strategies
to recruit internal and external students into Workforce
Development programs and the college in general, in order to
meet and exceed departmental and college annual enrollment
targets and goals. Supports a seamless transition from
outreach to career discernment and college enrollment. This
position works collaboratively with the Workforce Development
(WFD) team, Instruction, and the LWTech Outreach and
Admissions team. It will also represent the college and
the Workforce Development Department specifically in
collaborative relationships with public agencies and private
organizations. This is an exempt administrative position that
reports to the Assistant Director of Outreach & Employment
Services. This position is contingent upon grant

<P><B>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</B></P></TD></TR>

<LI>Assist in implementing a comprehensive outreach and
recruitment plan for students in collaboration with the
offices of Instruction, Admissions, and Workforce
Development/Employment Resource Center.<STRONG>Plan should
focus on:</STRONG>
<UL>
<LI>Industry, education, & employment events.
<LI>Local and regional employers to identify: Potential
students, potential jobs/employers, and opportunities for
relationship building.
<LI>On-campus recruitment, outreach, and employment
events.
<LI>Collaboration with Worksource & community-based
organization on outreach for potential Workforce
Development eligible students.
<LI>Non-Traditional populations (women in trades, men in
healthcare, etc.)
<LI>Traditionally marginalized and underrepresented
populations. </LI></UL>
<LI>Respond to inquiries from prospective students (via
email, phone, texts, etc.), outside agencies, and others on
general college and program information
<LI>Assist WFD students with career planning and initial
intake.
<LI>Assist with developing collaborative partnerships with
public agencies and private organizations serving dislocated
workers, including the Department of Social and Health
Services (DSHS), Employment Security/Worksource partners,
Seattle-King and Snohomish County Workforce Development
Council (WDC), Private Industry Councils, etc.
<LI>Coordinate with faculty, WFD/ERC, Institutional
Effectiveness, campus partners, WDCs, industry and other
stakeholders to facilitate industry tours, guest speakers,
internship opportunities, in-class recruitment, employment
events, and other related activities; develop a schedule of
quarterly events on campus.
<LI>Assist in cultivating, building, and maintaining
partnerships with local and regional employers for the dual
purpose of recruiting incumbent workers and identifying job
and internship opportunities for LWTech graduates.
<LI>Assist in creating, nurturing, and advancing both
external and internal relationships to increase engagement
with WFD, ERC & LWTech.
<LI>Interpret and communicate policies; assist in developing
procedures and processes to meet student and program needs.
<LI>Utilize and input data into internal recruitment and
marketing software (RADIUS) and spreadsheets for student
tracking to determine yield rates from various outreach and
recruitment activities.
<LI>Coordinate with other departments to track student
outcomes.
<LI>Assist in developing and maintaining marketing materials
for outreach to WFD eligible students and potential employer
partners; incorporate social media as an outreach tool.
<LI>Attend and represent LWTech at outreach and employment
related events, meetings and workshops.
<LI>Back up other department and college staff as
necessary.
<LI>Assist the Director and Assistant Directors of Workforce
Development, the workforce development team, and other
college administrators as necessary

experience to demonstrate ability to meet the following
expectations (generally, competitive candidates will have a
bachelor's degree or higher and two or more years of
outreach/recruitment or related experience in higher
education):

plan
<LI>Work with individuals of varied ethnicity, ages,

<LI>Serve low-income, first generation, dislocated

<TD> Salary is $3,729 per month. This is a full-time, 40 hour
per week position. Working hours are typically 7:30 am - 4:30
pm Monday through Friday; some evening and weekend hours as
needed. Medical, dental and insurance benefits are provided as
currently administered under Public Employees Benefits Board;
State Retirement Plan; vacation begins to accrue 2 day's per
month and sick leave begins to accrue at 1 day per month,
effective upon employment. This is an exempt, administrative
year to year contract pending Grant
